The money supply totaled MNT9.8 trillion last month, less by 4.5% from the previous year, the Central bank reported.

The money supply decrease was mainly influenced by the decline of 2% foreign currency and 0.1% of money outside of savings funds.

The January money supply consists of 53.9% of tugrug savings, 20.1 foreign currency savings, 11.4% of tugrug accounts, 9.6% of foreign currency accounts and 4.9% of cash outside of savings funds.

The total savings declined by 1.2% from December or MNT 85.8 billion totaling MNT 7,297 trillion.

The loan issued by the financial organizations increased by 0.8% or MNT141.9 billion from the previous month, including 65.2% or MNT11.8 trillion issued by the savings funds and 34.8% or MNT6.3 trillion from other financial institutions.
