Ulaanbaatar – February 25, 2016 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia held a press conference with presence of ASEM team arrived to Mongolia to ensure success of 11^th meeting in Mongolia to take place on July 15-16.

Mr Michael Mattison, senior advisor in charge of ASEM affairs highlighted the importance of the ASEM meeting which shall be celebrating its 20^th anniversary.

“Along with the high level meeting of officials, series of meetings shall be organized as a part of ASEM such as a meeting of parliamentarians in April, meetings of Finance Ministers and civil society to discuss various topics” Mr Mattison said.

“The ASEM team very much appreciates the ASEM 2016 Mongolia logo with a Mongolian element featuring the host country.”

Mr B.Bayasgalan, deputy head in charge of ASEM meeting preparations added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received so far confirmation of 20 countries to attend the meeting of parliamentarians and organizers expect more officials to come.

Participants of 53 countries, including 30 from Europe, 21 from Asia and EU shall be discussing issues related to three main pillars: economic, political and social-cultural.

Following the tradition of ASEM anniversary celebration, the ASEM Mongolia shall be issuing Ulaanbaatar Declaration covering 20 years of ASEM meetings, achievements and success as well as plans and actions for the future.
