Number of politicians officially announced birth of new independent organization called Initiative for Mongolian democracy. The new organization held its first meeting last Friday (February 22, 2016) and L.Bold, MP is elected the president. D.Nyamkhuu, S.Mendsaikhan, L.Narmandakh are elected the VP as proposed by new President and 21 members including G.Batkhuu, MP, L.Oyungerel, MP, A.Bakei, S.Bayartsogt, ex PM advisor to B.Batbaatar shall be in the Board. 100 people attended the meeting was reported.

Last year G.Batkhuu, L.Bold, A.Bakei, Ts.Oyungerel and others had initiated a discussion to shape the values of Mongolian democracy. The official statement of a newly born organization stated that the discussion was expanded and lead to the establishment of an independent organization. President L.Bold of “Initiative for Mongolian Democracy” described the organization as “a non-profit NGO to serve society respecting common values of the democracy”. However, the NGO chapter shall not restrict certain political activities of members who are free to unite with their opinions and standpoints, which means that the organization may later on to become a political force.

It may become a first step to establish a new party, separating from the DP as the initiators and organizers of the organization are mostly DP members, including current MPs and ex MPs.

However, this event seen by the politicians the birth of a new fraction within DP.
